About the Center for Pain Management
Our Center is located within The Institute of Pain Management in Hackensack. The Institute also offers other traditional and non-traditional modalities for pain, such as physical therapy and psychotherapy.
The Pain Institute itself houses a collaborative team of health professions who are dedicated to pinpointing therapy for lasting pain relief.
The Center’s Staff and Board Certified Pain Specialist (webmaster put a link to photo of staff at bottom of this page) uses cutting-edge minimally invasive pain management as the first approach.
Dr. Samyadev Datta, the director is a Board Certified pain specialist as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Pain Management and a Board Certified Anesthesiologist.
His expertise is grounded with over 25 years of helping patients in pain from all walks of life. His post doctoral training includes positions in England and at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. He is available for an evaluation, a consultation, advanced treatment or a second opinion.
It is a testament to Dr. Datta’s skills that most of his patients are referred via colleagues and are willing to travel from other states to see him. These patients are often seeking non-surgical pain relief.
He was named America’s Top Anesthesiologist by the Consumer Research Council of America twice, in 2006 and 2009.
A respected expert in pain management, he and offers seminars to other physicians on pain management and lectures extensively on pain treatments.
He is involved in research trials on pain and has published numerous articles includingg Neurolytic Techniques cancer pain management, Chronic pain syndromes and ethical dilemmas in pain management.
His treatment program includes education and prevention. Dr. Datta’s career includes pain management at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, Assistant Professor in Anesthesiology at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York, Director, Pain Management Services at the Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck, NJ.
